As Sri Lanka accelerates digital transformation in banking, logistics, manufacturing, telecommunications, and government services, cybersecurity is becoming a strategic priority. In a connected economy, protecting digital infrastructure, ensuring operational continuity, and countering cyber threats are now essential to economic stability and national security.
SITREK Group led this shift by convening global and local leaders at the SITREK Cyber & Tech Summit 2026, held at Cinnamon Life, City of Dreams Colombo. The summit served as a platform to redefine cybersecurity and integrated security technologies in Sri Lanka.
By convening stakeholders from Sri Lanka’s tri-forces, Police, Special Task Force, Ministry of Defense, alongside leaders from banking, finance, and enterprise sectors, SITREK enabled critical discussions around cyber resilience, artificial intelligence, and the protection of critical infrastructure.
A Strategic Cybersecurity Backbone
At the core of the summit was a landmark collaboration between SITREK Group and global technology and defence leader ST Engineering Cyber Security, Singapore. Formalised through a Memorandum of Collaboration, this partnership introduces defence-grade cybersecurity capabilities into the Sri Lankan market.
Through this alliance, organisations gain access to advanced Security Operations Centre (SOC) technologies, AI-driven threat detection, and enterprise cyber defence frameworks. These capabilities form the cybersecurity backbone required to protect high-risk sectors such as banking, telecommunications, logistics, and government infrastructure.
Beyond technology, the collaboration also enables knowledge transfer and capability development, strengthening long-term cybersecurity maturity within Sri Lanka.
The Launch of SIDEKICK
Reinforcing its commitment to practical innovation, SITREK Group also introduced SIDEKICK, a proprietary platform designed to modernise operational security and facility management. SIDEKICK will integrate the following essential functions into a unified system:
• Visitor management
• Vehicle parking management
• Incident reporting
• Venue coordination
By centralising these operations, organisations benefit from enhanced visibility, improved coordination, and faster decision-making. SIDEKICK aims to be a unified command centre for clients, allowing easy integration of IoT devices like air quality sensors, access control, CCTV, smoke alarms, and related technology into the platform.
Notably, SITREK announced that certain features of SIDEKICK will be deployed free of charge to its existing Security Solutions clients, demonstrating a strong focus on delivering accessible, value-driven innovation.
Intelligence, Cloud, and Automation
While cybersecurity forms the foundation, SITREK’s broader strategy is built on integrating complementary technologies into a unified security ecosystem.
A key pillar of this ecosystem is Dragonfruit.ai, which brings advanced artificial intelligence into security operations. Its AI-powered video analytics platform transforms traditional surveillance systems into intelligent threat detection engines which are capable of identifying anomalies, analysing behavioural patterns, and enabling real-time decision-making. This significantly enhances situational awareness while reducing reliance on manual monitoring.
Complementing this intelligence layer is Eagle Eye Networks, which provides a robust cloud-based video surveillance infrastructure. Its platform enables organisations to manage security operations across multiple locations with scalability, flexibility, and remote accessibility. In an era of distributed operations, cloud-based surveillance ensures that security systems remain agile, resilient, and centrally controlled.
Adding a crucial physical and operational layer to this ecosystem is the Sri Lankan robotics startup Scouts. The company is a locally developed autonomous drone technology that integrates artificial intelligence with advanced aerial monitoring to deliver rapid response capabilities, strengthen perimeter security, and improve coverage across complex environments — an innovation that SITREK Group has recently invested in.
Together, these technologies form a multi-layered security architecture, where cybersecurity, AI-driven intelligence, cloud infrastructure, and autonomous systems work seamlessly to deliver comprehensive protection.
Orchestrating a Collaborative Security Ecosystem
A key takeaway from the SITREK Cyber & Tech Summit 2026 is that modern security challenges cannot be addressed through isolated solutions. The increasing complexity of cyber and physical threats requires a collaborative, ecosystem-driven approach.
SITREK’s role extends beyond that of a solutions provider; it acts as an orchestrator, integrating best-in-class global technologies into a unified framework tailored to local market needs. By aligning partners such as ST Engineering, Dragonfruit.ai, and Eagle Eye Networks, the company is enabling organisations to adopt a more holistic and future-ready approach to security.
Shaping the Future of Security in Sri Lanka
As Sri Lanka continues its digital evolution, the importance of resilient, intelligent, and scalable security systems will only intensify. The SITREK Cyber & Tech Summit 2026 highlights how strategic partnerships and technology integration can drive this transformation.
By combining global expertise with deep local insight, SITREK Group is playing a defining role in shaping the future of cybersecurity and security innovation in Sri Lanka, building not just stronger systems but a more secure and resilient digital economy.
